These terms govern your use of Caption-Lagao at captionlagao.com (the “service”). By generating captions or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Caption-Lagao is a free browser tool that transcribes speech on a video or audio file you provide, lets you edit and style captions, and exports a burned-in MP4 and optional subtitle files. It is not a full video editor, social publisher, or photo-caption writer. Features may change without notice.

No account

You do not create an account. Projects, styles, and the video file live in this browser’s storage. Clearing site data, switching browsers, or using another device removes that copy. We do not promise cloud backup.

Your content

You keep all rights in the videos and audio you upload. You grant Caption-Lagao a limited, temporary licence to process the file on your device and to send audio to speech-to-text so captions can be generated. We do not claim ownership of your footage, captions, or exports. You are responsible for having the rights to transcribe and publish that material.

Acceptable use

You must not use Caption-Lagao to:

• Process content you do not have the right to copy, transcribe, or publish
• Caption sexual content involving minors, or any other illegal material
• Attack the service, scrape it in a way that degrades it, or bypass usage limits
• Misrepresent Caption-Lagao as affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, CapCut, or any other platform

Captions are a draft

Speech recognition can mis-hear names, mix languages, or miss words. You must review captions before you post. Caption-Lagao is not liable for a mistranscribed line, a missed timestamp, or a takedown that follows from content you publish.

Intellectual property

The Caption-Lagao name, site design, caption styles, and software are ours or our licensors’. You may not copy the product, scrape style packs for a competing app, or remove notices from the site. Your exported video is yours to post.

Third-party services

Audio may be sent to a speech-to-text provider. Analytics and advertising partners (including Google) may run if you allow those cookies. Their terms also apply. See the privacy policy.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind — including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free transcription. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Caption-Lagao is not liable for lost footage, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from use of the site. If a jurisdiction does not allow some of these limits, they apply to the maximum extent permitted.

Copyright complaints

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email hello@captionlagao.com with the URL, a description of the work, and a statement that you are authorised to act. We will review genuine notices.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
