Roman Urdu
Roman Urdu
Roman Urdu is Urdu in the Latin alphabet — kaisay ho, nahi, bohot. That is how most Pakistani and Indian creators type in chats and comments. This page is for turning that speech into on-screen captions.
Sample: Roman Urdu on a talking clip
A preview of word-timed captions on a short clip — then you style and export.

Auto-captions often write Hindi Devanagari or a stiff translation. Viewers who watch on mute cannot read a script they do not use in comments.
Caption-Lagao transcribes the voice with word timestamps, then can write Urdu as Roman Urdu. English words, brand names, and numbers stay as spoken. You can still edit any line before export.
The video file stays on this device. Audio is sent only to generate the transcript. Projects are stored locally, not in a public gallery.
1
Upload the clip
Drop an MP4, MOV, or WEBM. The file does not leave this device as a video upload to a public host.
2
Generate captions
Transcribe with word timestamps. Choose Roman Urdu as the caption output if it is not already selected.
3
Edit mixed lines
Fix any word that should stay English. Split long sentences so they fit a 9:16 frame.
4
Style and export
Pick a caption style, place the block above platform UI, then download MP4 and SRT.
Use Roman Urdu when your audience already types that way. Use Urdu script only when Nastaliq is the point (poetry, news, formal address).
Mixed clips are normal: a sentence can contain Urdu, English slang, and a number. Keep those tokens as they were said, then time the line to the voice.
Export a burned-in MP4 for posting, plus SRT if you need a subtitle file. Captions are not watermarked.
It is Urdu written in Latin letters, matching how people type in WhatsApp and comments — not Nastaliq and not Hindi Devanagari.
They should stay in English when they were spoken in English. Always read the line once on mute and correct leftovers before you export.
Yes. Caption output is a setting. Roman Urdu is the default for social clips; you can choose another output and restyle.
